i was wondering two things, 1: how long in total are the zoom meetings, i presume the sunday one is the longest ?.
and 2: if you use zoom for free, the session only lasts 40 minutes, so do they have an intermission so people can log back in, or are all jw's expected to pay for the "privilege" ?.
@road to nowhere ...The dating pool is likely the worst part. Most of the growth comes from born ins. Finding a mate elsewhere will dilute the growth along with causing a lot to "fall into sin ".
That's the very and only reason KHs are open for the business of hearings and df'ings.
this is not a jw-bashing thing, but it always seemed odd to me that the "excuse" when things go wrong is that "we have to wait and see how the prophesy is fulfilled" or some other wording.. my question has always been, then what is the purpose of the prophesy if you don't understand it until after the fact?
isn't that like having a weather forecast but being told that we don't really know what the weather will be until the next day?
isn't that the purpose of prophesy?.
The WTBTS always does crystal ball predictions ..."it appears that we can expect" (w20 May p.16 pp.13)

Gorbatchov > 2021 no convention, too.
It's not a good idea for them to have so much free time at their disposal. They will certainly stray off catering to 'worldly desires', don't you think?

Just curious:
Why would they want to print badges when all the convention venues are closed. They sit at home and read off each others lapel card what congo they are from and what their names are?
They probably stick'em on when going shopping.

Of course, to watch that boasting program it is the best to have a 60" LED TV in the house to see the "friends" clearly on the screen when ZOOM-ing.

a few years ago at one of the conventions, there was a talk on gods remarkable creation.
one of the slides showed a giant sequoia tree, approximately 5000 years old!.
later another talk was about noah etc.

BITB,
there was a 50 year gap between the failed dates of 1925 and 1975.. memories fade, people die, and who cares what was said 50 years ago.. most jw's now in the religion werent there when 1975 was a thing.
even my mother who was baptized in 1974 who i do remember speaking about it back in the day, can barely remember what the fuss was about.
for active jw's who are doing all there studying online now, its practically impossible to find any wt contemporary reference to 1975.. i read recently (sorry i cant source it right now) that at the time, even watchtower may have taken the view that even if they knew 1975 was wrong, the short term gains would far outstrip those who left leading to an overall net gain so it was a risk worth taking.
Say ... when is the next "Jubilee Year" due to be upon us?
